Does Honey Have Curative Powers?

Received this in my inbox this morning, from my online page-a-day calendar (why do men have nipples edition).

Does Honey have Curative Powers?

Honey has long been used in homeopathic remedies. The application of turtle brain mixed with honey was an ancient Egyptian remedy for a scar on the cornea of the eye. And as recently as the First World War, honey was being mixed with cod liver oil to dress wounds on the battlefield. While modern medicine hasn’t endorsed it as official medicine, plenty of people still swear by its ability to heal all sorts of ailments, from sore throats to skin blemishes. Some people even drink honey and vinegar to ease sinus pain. If that combination sounds too icky, try mixing it with ice-cold apple juice before putting it down the hatch.
